This is a recipe that I learned from my mum. When I lived at home there was a period where this would be the standard dinner every Monday. I'm not sure where she got it from, it doesn't really seem like a Polish recipe, but she cooked it for years. I still enjoy making it occasionally, as while it takes time it doesn't need a huge amount of effort to prepare, and I haven't become bored with it and still enjoy eating it!

Serves: 2
This is a quick recipe that you can cook in about 15 minutes (plus about 10 minutes to prepare your ingredients). You cook the sauce in the time your fettucine takes to cook, and then combine the two in the pan.

I enjoy cooking, which my wife thinks is great. I like browsing through the cookbooks at the bookstore, and have more than once bought a book because I had started salivating over the pictures (usually because I went there on an empty stomach). I didn't make up the term, but I like to call nice pictures of food that make you want to eat it "food porn".

I found this interesting collection of McDonalds Do-It-Yourself McDonald's Restaurant Recipes (PDF), apparently based on the production methods of the 50s, 60s and 70s - ie, the unhealthy "original" stuff!
I don't know how authentic it is, but it's plausible - from some of the wording it seems the original author worked for McDonalds in some capacity.
I doubt I'd be able to find all the right ingredients for the "Special Sauce" here in Australia - it's hard enough finding some ingredients for Asian recipes even at the big Asian supermarket.

Mmm.. calorific. This Snickers Pie recipe was mentioned in the Sydney Morning Herald today. Stats include: 1,200 calories per piece, 22tsp of fat, 11tsp sugar! It seems the BBC site has pulled the recipe and it throws a 404. It's still in the Google Cache, so I've decided to record it here for all eternity (or until I flush the database).

To celebrate, here's the recipe I used for chocolate mousse the other day, which tasted bloody fantastic, and is dead easy.
