I sat the exam for the Sun Certified Programmer for the Java 2 Platform 1.4 on Wednesday, and came away with a 96% score (2 wrong out of 61 questions). Considering the pass mark is only 52% I think that's pretty good, given the general agreement that it is a difficult test.

You'll have noticed that Junkheap has Google ads. Occasionally they disappear and turn into public service announcements because we mention lots of nasty words on the front page, or some other thing that Google considers the be of dubious worth.
You see, Google serves its ads based on the content of the page on which they appear. It checks the page, looks for keywords and selects ads which specify the same keywords as relevant.
Therefore, if you want to advertise your bicycle selling website with Google Ads, you select "bicycle" as a keyword, and any website with Google Ads and the word bicycle on it will become a possible host for your ad. Simple!
Occasionally it goes wrong.

Rather than just taking whatever feels right (light weight and decent feed mainly) actually making a conscious effort to think about how much energy a food provides for a given weight. The next bushwalk I'm planning on going on is to the Budawangs on 13-14 May, and I wanted to try and experiment a bit with different food - we have been taking pretty much the same stuff on every walk so far so it's time for a change.
