Port Stephens Getaway

We went away to Port Stephens on the "mid-north coast" of NSW, an hour or so north of Newcastle. We spent 3 and a bit days there - basically took the Friday and Monday off and made a 4-day weekend of it. Since there was 5 of us - Ela, her dad, her brother, her brother's girlfriend and me - we went for the budget option and decided to stay at the Port Stephens YHA. This turned out to be a fantastic option.

24MBit plan!

My plan has been switched over to the 24MBit EXTREME ADSL2+ plan, however I'm still waiting for the exchange to catch up. You can keep a tab on progress with me, on Internode's DSLAM rollout page - my exchange is Glebe.

Internode are good eggs though, they let you switch to the ADSL2+ plan as soon as your exchange is in build which means I'm paying $10/mo less than I was for the same GB/month. I'm just on a Telstra DSLAM until the Glebe one is in place and on my existing 1.5MBit connection.

Also my clock appears to be accurate to the second.

Mmm... geeky.

Bushwalking

Ella and I are keen bushwalkers, even if we don't get out as often as we should - especially not in the last 4 months with our wedding and Ella's family coming here. I've started reminiscing again about the good old days..

McRecipes

I found this interesting collection of McDonalds Do-It-Yourself McDonald's Restaurant Recipes (PDF), apparently based on the production methods of the 50s, 60s and 70s - ie, the unhealthy "original" stuff!

I don't know how authentic it is, but it's plausible - from some of the wording it seems the original author worked for McDonalds in some capacity.

I doubt I'd be able to find all the right ingredients for the "Special Sauce" here in Australia - it's hard enough finding some ingredients for Asian recipes even at the big Asian supermarket.

Kayaking!

We went kayaking today. We hired some kayaks for 4 hours from Sydney Harbour Kayaks and had a paddle up into Middle Harbour. It was a good day, but was very tiring. Especially since I was in a single the whole time and unlike last time I haven't been going to the gym lately. Still, we made it and it was a lot of fun. Here are some electronic resources from the day:

Wedding time!

So, I got married yesterday. It was a great day, and there were lots of our friends and family there. Now we have to sift through the 2,000+ photos, and video and organise something we can show people. In the meantime, here is a preview..

You may kiss the bride..

Update: My wife has uploaded some of the photos to HER Flickr account, so you can see them there in the meantime.

Lindsay Lohan's Nipple Slip

Lindsay Lohan, a rather popular celebrity and star of several Disney or might-as-well-be-Disney films, recently wore a dress that didn't fit her.

As a result, there is a photograph of her exposed right breast available on the internet.

You will not see it on Junkheap. because her face is also visible in the photo, and I wouldn't want to do that to any of you.

You see - It's not just about posting naked celebrities here at Junkheap. They have to be good looking naked celebrities.
