Blue Mountains Bushwalk: Photojournal

We had an early start, so we could get to Katoomba by 8am.

We went for a wee stroll on Saturday, to Ku-ring-ai Chase National Park just north of Sydney.

It was quite a difficult walk, especially since we've only just started bushwalking, but was well worth it. All in all it was about 11km, of which the first 4 were over rough terrain with plenty of climbing up and down rocky hills. We even managed to lose the trail once, but luckily my new GPS pointed the way back and we found it again.

As you can see there was some great scenery, even if the weather wasn't the best. I may have to convince Ela that we should do the walk again when it's warmer and sunnier. Apparently spring is a good time because of all the wildflowers in the area.

In other news:

  • We've booked our Christmas trip to Poland / Europe. I think that's the last time i'll be going at that time of year, $2,600 return! Still, it's all good airlines - mainly Lufthansa - and as direct as can be with quick transfers. Except Frankfurt where we have to spend 12 hours. Neither of us have been there so I'm sure we can entertain ourselves despite it's reputation as a boring banking, finance and transport hub!
  • Prawns in chocolate sauce are tastier than you'd think.
  • Mussels grilled with parmesan and parsley are as tasty as you'd think.
  • I'm going to try and start posting regularly again. (ha!)
