Still here! (No porn this time!)
Sorry for the multiple emails that went with this posting! Something went dodgy (got back a "document contains no data" and for some reason the posting was posted 10 times!)
Just letting you know, we're still alive (even though Zuid hasn't posted for aaages now). I've been spending a lot of time watching the futbol and playing Grand Theft Auto III. Apart from all that, I have been doing the usual coffee drinking and stuff.
I've also been working on a cool feature (I think I mentioned it as a "collaborative community" earlier, haha). It's a thing where you all get to review things. And places. That is, all sorts of things, cafes, movies, bars, books, restaurants, hot chicks, whatever! This huge (I hope) database of reviews is then searchable or browseable and you should be able to find out what other people think of other stuff. Or find a nice place to get a coffee - anywhere in the world!
The review thing is a lot more work than I thought. I might have a "beta" up in the next week or two which will let you submit reviews and browse existing reviews. Additional features that will eventually eventuate (!) will be:
- Being able to search (this will come soon after, I just want the functionality there so people can start submitting reviews first!)
- Being able to edit a review after you have submitted it.
- Being able to comment on a review. Maybe also being able to add your own rating to an existing review. The system would then display the original reviewer's score and an average of everyone elses scores
I think there were are few other features I wanted (I should write this stuff down) but it's a case of finding the time. I'll keep you all posted!
