Is it safe?

I've decided to come out of my bunker. I was fearing a Canadian attack on Sydney anytime after their attempt to destabilise the US government by flying a plane into a building in Milan. Mainly I wanted to see if civilisation as we know it still exists. Unfortunately, it does.

Unrelated, I lost the data on one of my hard drives recently and realised one of the things on there was about 3 series (the first 3) of Daria in Realvideo format. I hadn't actually watched them any time in the last 2 years but remembering they were on there (and unfortunately not on CDR) makes me want to watch them again. Getting to the point, does anyone know of a good source for DivX versions of Daria episodes? Kazaa seems no good for that. Let me know if you have a good source!

Did you know that in the latest Nicorette ad you can see the girl's nipples through her top? Fun fact for you right there.

US announces, Canadia Can Eat Our Shit!

President Bush writes up his press release

President George W. Bush issued a statement early this morning which has inflamed America's already strained relationship with Canada, their immediate northern neighbour.

Following the events of April 17th, in which several Canadian soldiers on duty in Afghanistan were killed or injured when an American F-16 pilot bombed them, the war of words between the two nations has been at an all time high.

In this morning's internet press release, President Bush once again warned terrorism conspirators of his resolve.

All you motherfuckers are gonna pay, You are the ones who are the ball-lickers. We're gonna fuck your mothers while you watch and cry like little bitches. Once we get to Canadia and find those flappy-headed fucks, we're gonna make 'em eat our shit, then shit out our shit, then eat their shit which is made up of our shit that we made 'em eat. Then you're all fucking next.

Canadian troops burn American flag

The statement has brought widespread unrest in Canada, with students, women, and other underprivileged minorities marching in protest on the American embassy in Ottawa, American consulates in Toronto and Quebec, and at least two McDonald's restaurants in Vancouver.

Witnesses report that so far, all StarBucks® stores are unaffected, so Canadians can still buy their favourite coffee, freshly squeezed each morning, from their local outlets.

StarBucks® have a range of quality coffee brews, and they'll serve it any way you want it! Be it an espresso, cappucino, mocha, or even a latté, Canadians can get it all in a variety of sizes, right up to the enormous Grandé mug - 450ml of your favourite beverage, enough to satisfy even the heaviest craving!

News of the events is starting to trickle through to the other 37,000 Canadian troops currently on shore-leave in Afghanistan, resulting in mass protesting and rioting there also.

Canadian soldiers have put down each other's "Hockey Sticks" and started burning American flags and life-sized cardboard cutouts of Bill Clinton and funny-woman Ellen Degeneres.

LUEFIP, the American National Coalition of Fish Eating Lesbian Friends, has condemned the actions of the soldiers and fined them $10,000, explaining that Bill Clinton has nothing to do with all this and should be left alone.

Holly Valance was not available for comment.

This means war, motherfuckers!

Mistaken US pilot kills four Canadians

A US-F-16 fighter pilot dropped a 250kg bomb on Canadian troops in Afghanistan, killing four and wounding eight, because he mistook a live-fire exercise on the ground for hostile fire, a US defence official said today.

It seems finally after all those years of tension between the US and Canada someone snapped and decided to declare war. It's not that hard to spot a bunch of Canadian troops on the ground, they're the ones with the flappy heads wielding hockey sticks!

Thought i'd post this because it's really, really, funny. In a sad way of course, people are dead, show some respect! I can just imagine the Canadian Prime Minister or whatever they have, "HEY! WHAT'S ALL THIS ABOOT GEORGE W BUSH!"

Clerks, Bands, Flash!

Now that the official mourning period for the demise of Bardot is over we can get back to our regularly scheduled shite. If your shite is not regularly scheduled then I suggest more fibre in your diet. No, dickhead, put down that cable and eat some bran muffins.

I was reading some stuff on the View Askew site and they are going to be releasing a Clerks 10th Anniversary DVD. I was thinking, that sucks because I just bought the Clerks Collectors Edition, but it turns out the 10th anniversary is in 2004 so it won't be so bad buying it again :) Anyway, apparently the film is going to be digitally enhanced (to make it look better I assume and not to add lightsabres) and it'll have commentary by the whole original cast. Unlike the current audio commentary which is just a few of the cast and crew (mainly the usuals like Jason Mewes, Scott Mosier and Kevin Smith). Anyway, it sounds like a cool thing to have. In a few years.

There's a Waikiki gig on this Saturday night at the Hopetoun Hotel. They're a very cool band. The lead singer chick is kind of hot too, so it makes it even more interesting! Anyway, it's at 8pm and costs 8 shiny Australian dollars (25c US). Just thought I'd mention it incase you're in Sydney and like local bands. I believe they're playing Friday too, same time. Well, different day.

Why is it that most bands seem to have these Flash filled monstrosities for websites? They take forever to load and don't really provide much more than a few pages of content. What's the point? Sure maybe it's "creative", but half the time time sites have serious usability issues. I was going to use Menteke as an example of another band gone flash-happy (Not that kind of Flash-happy!) but they've cleaned up their act and decided to use text for content! Good for them.

I choose to end this posting, now.

Bardot officially calls it quits

April 17 2002 AAP

Australia's first instant pop group, Bardot, is no more. The female foursome released a statement late yesterday officially confirming recent reports and rumours the group was on its last legs.

"(The group) have cited the need for a well earned break following what has been a phenomenal two-and-a-half year explosion on the Australian music scene," the statement read.

"The pace at which the group's career continued from its inception at the first Australian Popstars TV show auditions to the completion of a third single from their second album ... has taken its toll."

The band began life in 2000 when Belinda Chapple, Sophie Monk, Sally Polihronas, Chantelle Barry and Katie Underwood were thrown together by the TV show.

It was almost immediately beset by controversy when Barry was thrown out of the group within weeks of its formation and replaced by Tiffany Wood.

The following year, with a number one single and a number one album under their belt, Underwood left to pursue a solo career.

The group continued as a foursome but their early chart success was never emulated and rumours recently emerged that they were calling it quits, with Monk expected to pursue a solo career.

Pauline Hanson's Big Brother

As I said I would comment on Big Brother. This'd be the witty social commentary part of the site. Well, social commentary anyway.

As you can see from the title of this posting I'm impressed by the accurate representation of Australian society that this series of Big Brother is providing us. They're all average or above average looking, none of them are fat, they're all white except for the token Asian who doesn't even look Asian, just kinda half Asian looking (even though his parents and sister all look very Asian). About the only anomaly is Nathan, the guy who "came out" early into the piece but everyone (who was paying any attention) could tell was gay anyway.

Still, with all relatively thin girls the "uncut" shows when they start should be alright. They should start this coming week. I've only watched two of the daily shows from what I've seen there should be plenty of material for the uncut shows. Maybe it'll get more interesting once there's less of them and they're a bit more uninhibited. Chances are though it'll be the same old stuff. Probably that guy that looks like Ben and also plays football will win, just to keep things consistent.

Unrelated to Big Brother... I got the Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back DVD this week. It's well worth it just for the second disc with all the outakes, deleted scenes (over an hours worth of footage) and other stuff. I watched the movie today (with the commentary) and noticed that the final theatrical release is different to the VCD copy I (don't) have. They took out little bits of dialog here and there (which is still in the deleted scenes but not the movie itself) and some other minor things.

The silliest thing I thought was when Mark Hamill came on the screen it freezes and says "Hey kids! It's Mark Hamill!", I didn't like that, was much better in the version I saw without that where at the end you watch the credits and say "Oh, shit, that was Mark Hamill. I didn't realise! That makes his stuff even funnier!".

That was my first Kevin Smith DVD, based on the quality of that (with all the extras) I'll have to get the other ones now. Word of warning though, don't get the Australian releases as they're just the movie (even as far as Dogma), the US releases have all the extra stuff.

Getting on my tits

There is a few things recently that I've been meaning to mention because they annoy the crap out of me, and I'm sure with the new Big Brother series starting tonight there will be a few more.

Anyway, the main one was this Trading Post ad that's on the TV. They say that getting classified ads in the newspapers is a waste of money because people don't read the classifieds, whereas the Trading Post is much cooler because people buy it because it is the classifieds. However, this doesn't take into account one thing - people usually buy the Trading Post for one particular category (say Computers or Cars) so if your ad is not in that category they're not going to read it anyway. So yeah, it annoys me because they make it seem like if you stick your ad in the Trading Post everyone that buys the paper will see it.

Speaking of Big Brother, well I wasn't really speaking of Big Brother but I did mention it, I am actually interested in seeing the first two episodes in order to see what kind of people are going to "the house" and whether it will be worth waiting for the inevitable nude photos of them. Actually, chances are I will watch a bit of Big Brother because I usually eat my dinner around 7pm and that's when they have the daily show (assuming they have it the same as last year) - unlike living with other carbon based lifeforms you tend to have the TV on when eating, rather than off to communicate with said carbon based lifeforms. Here's hoping there are some slutty hot chicks going in and getting it on! (with each other!)

I've run out of steam now and can't remember what else annoys me in particular that I wanted to mention. Mainly it was the Trading Post thing because I saw the ad again this morning.

Wasting time at TAFE.

Hello.

destroy terrorist nuke bomb new york world trade center satan death death death

I am currently in my "Multimedia" class at TAFE. It is really boring, and I am finding other things to do. Though this is technically acceptable, because we're supposed to be learning HTML or something as well. Well, not really HTML .. We're going to learn how to use HotDog, I think. None of you will care.

Also, I've discovered that junkheap doesn't load properly in IE 5.00 here .. which I could've sworn was what I was using at home. Aaanyyhooo ..

Apparently Windows Media Format is brilliant and everyone should use it. What do you know? Isn't that fascinating?

These computers need ICQ .. Actually, I should be able to telnet to my gateway and use MICQ, but now that I'm on Pacific Internet they firewall my bloody dialup. :(

The teacher here was saying that if you go to a "wah-rez" site on the internet, you can find anybodys credit card details from their IP. He wouldn't tell me the URL though. :(
